The Kapihan, Kasamahan, and Kwentuhan (K3) Seniors Program focuses both on teaching Filipino seniors how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and lead an independent yet community-involved life. It operates every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at West Bay’s facility. The K3 Seniors Program is run by Family Support and Case Manager, Cecile Gregorio Ascalon. West Bay offers Senior Advocacy and Supports Program as well as Wellness and Family Support Outreach to the people who come on their own time.
The K3 Seniors Program is dedicated to the seniors having light moments with friends in the community, talking about any topic they choose from their lives to politics to telenovellas, and singing karaoke or songs from their childhood in the Philippines. From time to time, West Bay hosts special events which range from workshops on healthy or independent living to guest speakers such as the Daly City Mayor, David Canepa, visiting the many Filipino WWII veterans that make up the K3 Seniors Program.
The K3 Seniors Program also includes: food distribution, nutrition classes, group and individual counseling, and advocacy initiatives to recognize Filipino elderly abuse.
