Together with our partners, West Bay was able to accomplish great things on a tight budget in 2011.
• Provided a safe environment, academic assistance, and meals to approximately 50 students daily for free.
• Conducted life skills workshops with our students led by our resident psychologist every Wednesday.
• Offered free boxing lessons in collaboration with USF’s Filipino Boxing Class.
• Organized a summer youth program full of recreation, learning, field trips, and fun.
• Conducted parenting workshops
• Cooked hot meals for the homeless during the holidays
• Distributed baskets of healthy food to senior citizens and their families weekly.
• Created a senior citizen support group
• Launched district wide Safe Haven Initiative with SFPD.
• Rallied with our partners supporting VA Health Care for our vets and a lump sum payment of $15,000 and also AB199, the important bill to include the Filipino WWII veterans role in the history for grades 7-12
• Launched our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) program with courses in Robotics and Radio Technology.
