  3. Spread the word to your network. If you know of others who may be interested in our work, would like to collaborate, or need assistance, we are happy to help in any way we can help.
  4. Attend a fundraising/networking event. West Bay will hold special community events throughout the year from Happy Hours to an annual Benefit.
  5. Volunteer your expertise. Our organization and clients would love to learn from you. West Bay values the time and crucial knowledge provided by students and professionals. We’ve had experts give workshops on health, immigration, personal financial planning, and safety. Knowledge is power!
  6. Join our community partners committee. Do you love planning? Are you a social butterfly? Our community partners committee works to bring our supporters together for a common cause through fun events.
  7. Donate online! Our organization appreciates any support you can give. In-kind donations are always welcome.
  8. Recommend us to your company’s community giving program. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) grants are a great way for companies to give back to good causes. Please let West Bay know if we qualify for your company’s community grants program.

MSW Intern

The MSW Intern assists the Case Manager in the coordination of West Bay Pilipino Multi-Service Center’s family service plan which includes counseling and case management, intake and referral, home visits, Tagalog translation, violence prevention and other support services for Filipino families.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop own case management clientele and provide case management services to individuals and families on a daily basis.
  • Complete and gather necessary documentation of services and collateral work provided to clients.
  • Assist/co –facilitate various psycho-educational groups with school psychologist or case manager
  • Work in a flexible environment that may include but are not limited to a school, office, and/or housing development.
  • Conduct outreach activities to promote West services and to enroll clients in programs.
  • Help organize, plan, and participate in other West Bay programs and activities as requested.
  • Report directly to the Case Manager and/or the Executive Director.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual English/Tagalog
  • Enrolled in an accredited MSW program

Communications Intern

The Communications Intern will assist with the marketing and community outreach efforts of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the maintenance of West Bay’s various websites such as Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr, and the official website
  • Assist with writing general donor correspondence such as thank you letters, invitations, and appeals
  • Research and implementation of the latest technology trends in communication and  social media for nonprofits
  • Help organize, plan, and participate in other West Bay programs and activities as requested

Requirements:

  • Excellent writing skills and great attention to details
  • Technology savvy
  • Enrolled in college or new graduate

Administrative Assistant Intern

The Administrative Assistant Intern will work under our Executive Director to maintain the upkeep of West Bay.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Running errands and assisting the Executive Director
  • Typing and filing documents
  • Taking notes during meetings
  • Collaborating with the Lead Education Mentor or Case Manager on important events or workshops
  • Ordering office and cleaning supplies

Requirements:

  • Had great attention to details
  • Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Paint
  • Able to work independently and be self-directed when necessary
